Sexualized discrimination
It is important for the University of Cologne to be a safe, non-discriminatory and non-violent place to study, teach and work. Therfore the UoC promotes a culture of responsibility of all members for preventing sexual discrimination. Discrimination is not tolerated. The Antidiscrimination Directive of the University of Cologne defines undesirable actions, opens up procedures for those affected and names contact persons and complaint offices.
The University of Cologne is currently (2021/2022) participating in the EU research project "UniSAFE" on gender-based violence in universities and research institutions. The aim of the project is to gain comprehensive knowledge about the mechanisms and effects of gender-based violence and to develop appropriate concepts to counteract it.
